While this museum offers a lot to organised groups (I suspect), to get the most out of the entrance fees as a parent you will need to research the exhibits and go in with a plan to engage your kids. While the exhibits are interesting, they are not directed as well as I might expect (Coming from a UK background). All that said, the staff are friendly and helpful, and they have very nice "out of order" signs!
翻译This was worth the visit. It has 41 exhibitions. Anyone from children to elders can enjoy this museum. They have small games and colorful exhibition, along with some complex models that you can spend time to understand the math behind it. (There is a 30% discount for students, dont forget to mention if you are one ;) )
翻译Entertaining for kids and adults. Great active and passive learning tools. There are challenging puzzles for genius levels as well as activities that require little to no effort. We has to drag the kids out after hours in order to make a show. Give yourself extra time.
翻译As a lover of mathematics, I was greatly disappointed in this museum. There was little in the museum that explored exciting concepts of mathematics such as infinity, pi, fractal geometry, etc. The museum was geared for children, which is totally fine. But even so, there was little there that encouraged children to appreciate mathematics. My 9-year old was completely bummed. There were bicycles that you could ride with square wheels that you can ride smoothly on certain surfaces, but there was no attempt to explain why this is so. There were some strings that lit up when you pushed two number buttons, eached labeled 1 to 9 and when you touched two of them these one digit numbers would be multiplied, giving you the answer...really? There was a screen showing a complex equation with x, y, and z coordinates and you moved a dial and created different 3-dimensional shapes... but there was no way to easily predict the effect of turning the knobs as well as no explanation. These 3 examples highlight the fact that I and my 9-year old left the place with absolutely no better understanding or appreciation of mathematics than when we walked in. Definitely skip this one and save some money for something better.
翻译I took my son here when he was 11, he loved it. He is also interested in math and science so it was a perfect fit. I do have to say they were a lot of interactive exhibits that were very engaging, and not just for those who have a good sense of math. Most of the exhibits would be fun for anybody to work with. Well worth a trip, and its been a few years since weve gone, so we plan on going back soon.
